Talking Heads Live in Rome 1980

So I've been on this late 70s early 80s postpunk/new wave tip lately - some fantastic music and the mainline for so much contemporary stuff. Talking Heads' Remain in Light is my new favorite - the guitar work on this afro-pop, postpunk jam is something to sit and ponder.

More Bill Leak Magic!

Ok so I know I post these a lot but the man is one funny bastard. Here the bleak genius cuts to the heart of the contrast between the two parties - this is starting to feel like Arthur Calwall vs Robert Menzies! About time the Libs got a taste of oblivion. Oh and my lovely wife has insisted that I never again post on the blog whilst a little sozzled so apologies for Friday nights unintelligible post - blame it on the romance of the snow!

The Paradox of the Vernal Equinox

Of all the wonderful and spontaneous natural phenomena associated with the manifest capriciousness of the weather, snow is the most magnificent. Why I might be drawn to such grandiloquent musings, in a certain hazy light is questionable yet not entirely unpredictable. This is Canada after all. So having surpassed the commencement of spring by days too numerous to politely consider, one is left to ponder that most bizarre, and I mean quite obnoxiously unfathomable, appearance of snow, serious flurries still, in the middle of a late, and mostly indifferent spring. As an aside, against the snow, the last several passages too obscure to be sensible, leaves one wondering. Which allows me to return to the start of all of this mystery. Silly wonder, too few passages of sense. It's snowing again. It's April, practically late Spring - like a summer threatening. No it's snowing. It was snowing four months ago - it's snowing still. Still.

New Rolling Stones Film (in Imax!!)

Happy Sunday afternoon y'all! Angie and I just took p'mo (short story or long may be told next time) to see the new Rolling Stones film "Shine a Light" in full surround sound, ear drums exploding, eye-popping iMax glory. Was quite the spectacle seeing mick'n'keef get down at 65+. Well worth the trip comrades. Here by way of homage is the Stones back in 1969 when they could really pull it off. Check out the collection of bug-eyed sunglasses on hand here - compulsory I suppose when one starts off on burgandy before hitting the harder stuff!

New Shiny Toys...

Just got the call that we now have a shiny new toy to play with...happy days! I have a wet weekend and a new addiction to explore. Gotta love the apple store...cheaper online and just 5 days to get built and shipped all the way from China via Memphis. Hooray!
